Love little boys...

At a basketball game for child #3, the girls were looking for something to keep them entertained (because supporting your brother is apparently "boring"!).
Well they found their entertainment in "Yoda", a family friend.
All of my children love this little guy so much I even contemplated having another child (for about 5 seconds).

Love this kid!!

What's wrong with this picture?

Besides the fact you are looking at two great looking kids, there is something wrong with this scene.
You may need to enlarge the photo...

Well, as we discovered after the Sunday evening fireside we attended was complete, Benjamin's pants are on backwards!!!
Completely buttoned and zipped, with a belt, but backwards!
What a good sport to let was photograph this and post it, per his father's request.

6th Grade Valentine's Dance

Monday, February 14th, 2011
My beautiful "little" girl!
Schools across Utah teach dance to their students (a lost art, in my humble opinion!) and many have a way of showing off what they've taught.  At our previous school a nightly performance with dances, singing, and poetry was presented.  At our current school a dance for the students is held on Valentine's day and parents are invited to watch and participate.
The gym was decorated with art projects and finished of by the "decorating committee".
As the hour progressed different dances were called out (waltz, jitter bug. etc.) and labeled either, "boy asks girl" or vise versa.  On occasion parental involvement was encouraged.
Proud Papa!
 Oo, la, la!
They performed line dances as well.
I have honestly never enjoyed a school activity more!
What a great way to teach children tradition, culture, manners, and social skills, all while having fun!!

Pre-Valentine's Day

In the middle of a Kitchen Makeover, Valentine's Day came along!
In our home St. Patrick's day is slightly more romantic than Valentine's, but I try to make it fun for the kids.  We have a special dinner where each member of the family receives a box of chocolates as dessert.  The cartoon or phrase on the cover often plays a bigger role in the selection of such treat, even more than the actual contents.
I will say this is the only time chocolate quality is compromised for the sake of cuteness!
Valentine's day was to fall on Monday and our cabinet painter was scheduled to spray, noxious fumes and all, so we celebrated early.
On Sunday we have a constant dinner guest.  His name is Brian and we enjoy his company and different view of life.  With the family, plus one, I continued the traditions, modifying them upon necessity; dinner at the counter instead of the table, one more box of chocolates, and a little less decor.
Once Brian accepted the short chair at the counter, he devoured his quiche and we all had a fun time.
On Valentine's day we had to leave the house during painting so the kids chose Chuck-o-Rama for our "romantic" meal and "Tangled" at the movie theater.
It turned out to be a very special couple of days.

Brace Faces

On January 26 both Glen and I signed over our left kidneys to cover the cost of braces for these two!
In all honestly we are blessed to have insurance and the means to fund such an adventure, but not happily.
I will say I've learned much about an HSA and how to use it though!
 The Before pictures:
The During...
And the After shot of one.
I think we were in such a hurry to get out of there we forgot the other child's after picture.
She chose Blue and White to support our Cougars in a basketball game that evening.
A few days later, they're still smiling!

Parental Date #2

Wonder Child #2!
We took the little missy to Texas Roadhouse for her "Parental Date".  She won the award for walking so many laps at our school Walk-a-Thon.
Another great kid!!
